Glen Livet and Carn Daimh

Distance 16 kms. Ascent 420 metres. OS map 36

We start at the car park at Glenconglass (NJ172223) and follow waymarked walk no. 6 along forest tracks to the summit of Carn Daimh (570m, NJ182251) which is an excellent viewpoint. From the summit we follow walk no. 5, continuing northwards to the corner of the plantation (NJ182262) where we turn right and descend to Clash Wood. We then follow a path past Westertown farmhouse and head uphill to rejoin walk no. 6 at NJ191235. We follow the Speyside Way before descending on a path through heather back to the car park.

Total Time: Approx. 5½ hrs

Meet at Culter Village Hall at 8:30 am and return around 6:30 pm

Transport by cars and refreshments afterwards at the Old Fire Station Tea Room, Tomintoul or a local hotel.

Walkers must wear walking boots, carry WARM and waterproof clothing, hat and gloves and take plenty of food and liquids. THESE ARE ESSENTIAL. Be prepared for possible wintry conditions on the top, whatever the forecast.

Dog owners must ensure that their dogs are on a short lead at all times.
