MORVEN 871m

Distance 16km OS map 37

We will all have to muck in on this one folks as no recce has been done so hopefully no barbwire fences and locked gates! ! However most of us have ascended this hill before and are familiar with it.

Our proposed route (weather dependent) is from the Pass of Ballater through pretty birch woodland and our descent from the hill takes the scenic rack through pine forest to Tulloch churchyard on the A93 before Ballater.

Walkers must wear walking boots, carry WARM and waterproof clothing, hat and gloves and take plenty food and liquids. THESE ARE ESSENTIAL. Be prepared for possible wintry conditions and snow on the top whatever the forecast. Take Gaiters for the muddy slushy bits!
