ST CYRUS TO INVERBERVIE COASTAL WALK

O.S. SHEET 45 LENGTH 15km (9 MILES)

This relatively flat walk starts at the St. Cyrus Nature Reserve (742635) where we walk alongside the beautiful golden sands of St. Cyrus beach, and, if lucky, we might see some interesting birdlife. We continue following a path above the cliffs towards the pretty fishing village of Johnshaven with its colourful painted fishermen’s cottages and narrow winding streets.

We then continue along a path which runs parallel to a dismantled railway line, passing pebble beaches and on to the fishing village of Gourdon before shortly after arriving at the market town of Inverbervie (832725).

Please note that the path may be muddy and slippery in places and that the route may be reversed depending on the wind direction.

Walkers must wear walking boots, carry WARM and waterproof clothing, hat and gloves and take plenty food and liquids. THESE ARE ESSENTIAL. Be prepared for possible wintry conditions and snow whatever the forecast.
