Felagie/ Inver

SUNDAY 2nd December 2007

OS maps 43/44

We have two options, weather dependant, as our December climate these days can be anything from spring to deep winter. If it is a fine day and we feel up to it we can begin slightly further along at Keiloch. Walk up the woodland track towards Felagie then head north along the Bealach Dearg for about a km and then east over the col between Craig Leek and Meall Gorm and down through the scattered woodland to the ruined village of Balloch. Then back to the track to Inver.13km ascent approx 150m

Or we can start at Inver follow the track along taking a detour to the ruined village then back down to the main track and across to Felagie and return to Inver on the southerly track 11km 7miles ascent 100m. Either way we will earn our pint and our meal by the warm fire.

Walkers must wear walking boots, and an impressive CHRISTMASSY HAT, and carry warm and waterproof clothing, hat and gloves. No need for packed lunch, a drink and small light snack is all that is required for our mid morning brief stop. We recommend that you bring spare socks and shoes or whatever to leave on the bus in preparation to be dry at lunchtime.
